At Girl Scouts, we believe every girl should have the opportunity to experience the joy, growth, and adventure of summer camp. We understand that financial challenges can sometimes make that difficult, and we're here to help.
To be eligible for summer camp financial assistance (Girl Opportunity Fund), please note the following:
- The Girl Scout must a rising 1st grader through rising Senior year of high school.
- Financial Assistance is intended for families who would not otherwise be able to attend camp due to financial hardship.
- Girl must have a current year membership with Girl Scouts of Gateway Council.
- A caregiver must submit a brief hardship letter describing the family’s current financial situation.
- Once financial assistance is approved, a $25 nonrefundable deposit is required to reserve your camper’s spot. If the selected camp session is full, you’ll be asked to choose a different date or location.
- Assistance may be requested and awarded in amounts from 25% up to 100% of camp fees (excluding the $25 deposit).
- Financial assistance (Girl Opportunity Fund) is valid only for the summer season it is awarded and cannot be transferred to another council, event, or membership year.
- We will do our best to honor all financial assistance requests for summer camp, but funds are limited.
- Camperships are only available for Girl Scouts of Gateway Council summer camp sessions.
We encourage all Girl Scouts to participate in our Sweets & Treats and Cookie programs. These fun, skill-building opportunities not only help girls earn special rewards like Gateway Green and camp credits but also help make financial assistance (Girl Opportunity Fund) possible for more families across our council.
