Every great organization is shaped by the people bold enough to lead it forward. The Youth Leadership Council puts Girl Scouts ages 14 and older at the table — not on the sidelines — to help chart the future of Girl Scouting across Gateway Council.
As a Youth Leadership Council member, you'll bring your ideas and perspective directly to council leadership on engagement, emerging trends, and the issues that matter most to Girl Scouts today. This is a seat at the decision-making table, where your voice carries real weight.
What you'll gain:
- Hands-on leadership experience and exposure to nonprofit governance
- The opportunity to represent Gateway Council at select events and activities
- A direct line to council leadership to deliver recommendations that shape real outcomes
Meeting format: The Youth Leadership Council meets four times a year in a hybrid format. Girl Scouts local to the Gateway Leadership Center in Jacksonville may attend in person; members across the council can join virtually.
2026–27 meeting dates: October 20, January 19, April 20, June 5 (in person) — applicants must be able to commit to all four dates to be considered.
Applications are due September 30.
If you're ready to lead — not just be heard, but help decide — we want you on the Youth Leadership Council.
